Spree books sales raise funds for RCG!
by Wilma Thomson
The beginning of the summer saw many of our staff and volunteers selling ‘Spree’ books to raise funds for RCG. Spree books offer savings across Aberdeen from restaurants to car washes and are sold to raise funds for local community causes. Together with Spree, Celebrate Aberdeen produced The Celebrate Aberdeen Spree Book which offered savings for July and August. A proportion of the £5 cost of the book went to Celebrate Aberdeen and a proportion went to the organisations selling the books.
Many thanks to folk who sold and bought the books for RCG and raised a total of £125! A great double whammy for buyers who could enjoy savings across Aberdeen AND know that their purchase has helped support RCG and the work we do!

This charity has helped some people we have supported in the past and proved to be such a life line! Please help if you can🆘 URGENT 🆘
UPDATE... 💜 Thank you so, so much to everyone who has contributed, purchased items and sent messages of support. We are delighted to be able to fulfil the requests now and we know the items will all be very gratefully received. 💜 THANK YOU 💜.
Tonight, one baby is sleeping in a broken stroller while another baby is sleeping in a Moses basket and at 5 months old - is very squashed. Heartbreakingly, there is also a baby who doesn’t know where its bed will be as Mummy carries it to safety, away from domestic abuse, with only one small bag of belongings.
Can you help ensure these babies have a safe nights sleep? We don’t have any cot beds left.
Please, if you can, follow the links below and help ensure babies across our city can sleep safely and soundly...

There are so many internet sites that can lead children and young people to being exploited, coerced into things they may not understand and do things that leave them extremely vulnerable.
This site below is one such internet site. I'm sharing this with you in order for you to be aware of it and be vigilant. It's important for us to look after our children and the children in our communities and keep them as safe as possible whilst they use the internet. ...

Timeline PhotosFollowing instances of Sextortion within the North East Police Division area, Crime Reduction Officer Constable Heather Nelson has some advice on how to avoid becoming a victim.
Sextortion usually involves people being lured into taking off some or all of their clothes in front of their webcam, only to be told that they have been recorded and that the video will be posted online and/or shown to the victim’s contacts unless a fee is paid. Sometimes, the victim is also enticed into performing intimate acts.
The consequences can range from embarrassment to humiliation and in extreme cases, have resulted in self-harm or even victims taking their own lives. Males and females of any age, anywhere, can become victims.
Remember:
• Never get lured into removing your clothes or performing intimate acts in front of your webcam. You do not know who may see the images.
• Be wary about who you invite or accept invitations from on social networking sites. Do not accept friendship requests from complete strangers, irrespective of ‘mutual friend’ status.
• Update the privacy settings on your social networking accounts so only people you know can view them.
• Do not include any sensitive, private or confidential information in profiles.
If you do become a victim:
• Do not pay and do not communicate further with the offenders.
• Report the incident to the relevant social networking site.
• Keep all evidence of the communications you have had, taking screenshots if you can. Do not delete any correspondence.
• Report the incident to the police via 101. ...
