16 Days of Activism against Gendered Based Violence Campaign

Rape Crisis Grampian (RCG) was busy over the recent ‘Sixteen Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence’ campaign (Nov 25th to Dec 10th) – holding a number of events from meditation sessions and daily Facebook and twitter campaigns, to the launch of our new re-branding. To mark the end of the Sixteen Days, a rally was held at St Nicholas Square in Aberdeen on Saturday 10th December and RCG were delighted to be invited to attend this final event. The event brought together speakers from a number of services including Grampian Women’s Aid, the Scottish Transgender Alliance, and the Aberdeen Violence Against Women Partnership. Our manager, Wilma Thomson, was also on hand to speak about the amazing work we do. Wilma encouraged spectators to spread the word of RCG and highlighted our ongoing need for volunteers and the critical role they play in ensuring our services reach as many survivors as possible. The rally was a fantastic event and was met with much interest and enthusiasm from the public; a great way to end the Sixteen Days of Activism.
